Ujji feels lucky to have been introduced to yoga, pranayama and meditation at an early age and, even after practicing over decades and completing over a thousand hours of teacher training certifications and teaching for numerous years, she still feels that there is so much more out there to learn and experience. Learning yoga from Sri BKS Iyengar in her early years and later from students of TKV Desikachar, of Sri T Krishnamacharya lineage, is the foundation of Ujji’s personal practice and teaching experience. Additionally, over a 12-year period she sought out meditation, pranayama and yog nidra teachers with roots in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Christianity, Judaism, Zen, Tibetan, Kundalini, TM and Vipassana to continue her meditation learnings and journey. She is a pioneer in developing personalized meditation practices, designing practices and techniques that enable an individual to connect with their inner self. She is the founder of two innovative techniques – Samatvam Meditation™ that seeks to enable individuals to hone their awareness, instinct and intuition through meditation and drawing upon aspects of Patanjali’s yoga sutras, and Samatvam Leadership Energy Balance, Management and Rejuvenation™ (LEBMR) that seeks to provide a tool to enable individuals to de-stress and reset from life and work exigencies effectively and to made decisions with clarity and creativity.

Samatvam was born out of a passion that has lasted over four decades and Ujji’s personal experience of the power of various mediation, mindfulness and yog practices that enabled her to energize, enrich, stay balanced and thrive notwithstanding the intense demands of balancing a wall street career, a family and life. During this time, Ujji represented a diverse range of companies, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies as a strategic business adviser and a licensed attorney. She continues to work as a consultant and leadership coach to help executives grow and succeed as leaders and with teams to foster realistic transformation to shape the workplace of the future. Additionally, she has taught negotiation seminars at various companies and organizations in the US and internationally. She utilizes her depth, knowledge and experience on Wall Street and industry into her mindfulness training to guide individuals to become more mindful leaders and teams to become productive and collaborative on shared goals.

Outside of business life, Ujji shares her keen interest in meditation and her deep understanding of the profound wisdom of the Yog Sutras as a Yoga Alliance certified educator, as well as, through her teacher trainings, workshops, domestic and international retreats, blogs, and research papers. She also enjoys traveling with her husband and their two children, hosting and cooking dinner for a crowd, growing exotic fruits, vegetables, and taking long walks with their dogs, and is a performing arts enthusiast.
