RESHMA DATAR

DIRECTOR | TRAUMA & WELLNESS EDUCATOR | E-RYT 500 | YACEP

Reshma is a Yoga Teacher and Educator, licensed Massage Therapist, Fitness Trainer, Health and Resilience Coach with a passion for helping others thrive. Her journey into the world of health and fitness began over 20 years ago, when she discovered her passion for motivating students and clients to achieve their fitness and health goals, and inspiring them to lead healthier lifestyles. In addition to becoming a personal coach, she pursued studies in Community Welfare in Australia, working extensively within Human Services and Community Welfare. This combination of health and community outreach became a perfect match in shaping who she is today.

Yoga is much more than achieving a specific posture; it is also about appreciating one’s uniqueness and adapting to change. She is very passionate about the therapeutic elements and benefits of yoga and loves working individually with those who face challenges.
Even when teaching groups, she encourages a breath-centric and individualized practice which suits you, moment to moment.
By working in multicultural populations (India, Asia, Europe, Australia, U.S.A) she has learned that interacting without prejudice and respecting boundaries and special needs is essential for building relationships based on trust and compassion thereby creating an inclusive society and yoga landscape for all.

Her teaching method is trauma informed and sensitive to the specific needs of students and populations who might be new or nervous to try yoga. Her teaching approach is fun, student oriented, encouraging and empowering. Through her own lived experience, she is thankful for the ability to navigate and adapt to life’s curve balls, which only motivates her to keep learning, keep showing up, and allows her not only to be inspired, but to inspire others on this continuous journey of learning, sharing and evolving.
